The 28th Annual Cosmos & Creation Conference The 28th Annual Cosmos and Creation Conference, a symposium focused on the relationship between science and theology, will take place at Loyola College in Maryland’s North Charles Street campus on Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13. The conference’s keynote speaker, Niels Gregersen, Ph.D., a professor of systematic theology at the University of Copenhagen, will discuss “Christ and Evolution.” His first lecture, “God, Matter & Information: Towards a Richer Concept of Matter,” will be presented on Friday, June 12, at 7:30 p.m. in Knott Hall B03. On Saturday, June 13, he will present “The Meaning of Deep Incarnation: Christology After Darwin” at 10:30 a.m. in Knott Hall B03. His most recent publications include Theology in an Evolutionary World (in Romanian, 2007), The Gift of Grace: The Future of Lutheran Theology (Fortress Press, 2005), From Complexity to Life (Oxford University Press, 2003) and Design and Disorder (T & T Clark, 2002). He is associate editor of the Encyclopedia of Science and Religion vols.I-II (MacMillan Reference 2003) and editor-in-chief of Dansk teologisk Tidsskrift. Andrew Buechele, Ph.D., Sch.P., a research associate at the Vitreous State Laboratory at Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., will deliver a post-luncheon talk on Saturday, June 13, titled, “Cleaning up Nuclear Waste: What are Scientists Doing?" The talk begins at 1:30 p.m. in Knott Hall B03. All lectures are open to the general public. The Saturday Luncheon is $15. Space is limited so reservations are required by Tuesday, June 2.
