November 21 - 23, 2014

A.M.D.G. stands for Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam, or “for the greater glory of God,” the motto of the Society of Jesus. The A.M.D.G. Retreat will have a new format this year, focusing on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. It will offer an introduction to key parts of the Exercises, including the “first principle and foundation,” growing as a person who discerns, and finding God in all things.

In the spirit of the Exercises, the retreat will invite students into quiet time of prayer and reflection, journaling time and faith-sharing time. All students must come for an interview with Fr. Murray or Mr. Timothy O’Brien prior to the retreat. The retreat will accept only 17 students. The retreat will be open to all class years, though students will be accepted based on their past significant retreat experience, either in high school or at Loyola.

If you wish to further explore your faith through an experience of silent prayer, reflection and worship, please sign up for A.M.D.G. by November 1, 2014. Interviews will be the responsibility of the applicant to arrange with the directors. No student will be accepted without an interview. So signing up is a two-step process; on-line and an interview. For further information contact Fr. John Murray, S.J. at jpmurray@loyola.edu or ext. 5881.
