Third Party Recruiter Policy

The policy of The Career Center at Loyola University Maryland is to educate students, alumni, faculty, and staff regarding a wide variety of job search strategies, including third party employment services.  The Career Center does not investigate, endorse, or recommend any third party employment services.

According to the National Association of Colleges and Universities (NACE) “Principles for Professional Conduct for Colleges, Career Planning, Placement and Recruitment,” third party recruiters are defined  as agencies, organizations or individuals recruiting candidates for temporary, part-time or full-time employment opportunities other than for their own needs.  This definition includes, but is not limited  to, employment agencies, staffing agencies, search firms, contract recruiters, and resume referral firms.

Third Party recruiters who are staffing positions within their organization are welcome to submit the employment opportunity through The Career Center’s website.  We will not post positions on HireLOYOLA for clients of third party recruiters.

The following opportunities also fall under these guidelines:

  • Companies utilizing a "pyramid/multi-level" networking structure, or those encouraging the recruitment of others in increase sales initiatives/quotas
  • Campus Ambassador type positions or opportunities requiring solicitation on campus
  • Positions requiring a prospective hire to purchase products or pay fees

The Career Center adheres to the aforementioned policy and guidelines to ensure the quality of our services to all of our constituents.
