Loyola University Maryland and the Loyola Clinical Centers, in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA), will host Raise Your Voice for Care, a day-long event to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s Disease and other dementias, on Friday, Oct. 23, in McGuire Hall on the Evergreen campus.
The event will feature panels and discussion about Alzheimer’s, free memory screenings, free hearing screenings and information about living with hearing loss, and a virtual dementia tour. The day-long event will conclude with a concert by Honor By August on the Quad at 4:45 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, unless otherwise noted.
The panels include:
- “Alzheimer’s Disease & You” at 10:30 a.m.
- “Caring for a Loved One with Alzheimer’s Disease” at 11:45 a.m.
- “Music as Therapy” at 1 p.m.
- “Careers in Dementia Healthcare” at 2:15 p.m.
In addition to raising awareness to Alzheimer’s through Raise Your Voice for Care, the event marks the official launch of Loyola’s AFA student chapter.
