Summer Reading at the Loyola Clinical Centers

The reading programs at the Loyola Clinical Centers provide an opportunity for children ages 4-18 to improve and build upon their literacy skills in a positive and enriching environment. The Literacy instructors at the Loyola Clinical Centers are currently certified, professional teachers completing their graduate work in the Masters of Education with a certification as a reading specialist. The graduate instructors are closely supervised by Loyola’s literacy faculty throughout the summer programs.

Ready, Set, Read!

For children ages 4-7 (Pre-K - entering 2nd grade), Ready, Set, Read! (RSR) is the program for you! Children enrolled in RSR will be placed in small groups (3-6 children) and co-taught by two instructors/therapists. The groups will meet every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for an hour and a half, July 5-July 27. The focus of these groups will be on the connection between language and literacy; lessons will include research-based strategies to best meet the needs of the group.  Instruction and activities will engage the children in multi-sensory activities focusing on the language and literacy objectives. Ready, Set, Read! is perfect for ALL children, as enrichment, support, building confidence, or keeping skills sharp.
