Non-custodial Parent Information

For students with biological, or adoptive parents who are divorced, separated, never married, or living separately, each parent will be required to submit a CSS Profile Application.  While completing your own application, you may provide the email address of your non-custodial parent.  The College Board will then notify your parent of this requirement.

2. 2018-19 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)   Available October 1, 2017

Complete the FAFSA online at https://fafsa.ed.gov. You and your parent must have a FSA ID to electronically sign the FAFSA. You may create a FSA ID while completing the FAFSA, or at the following federal websites (www.nslds.ed.gov, StudentLoans.gov, StudentAid.gov ). Loyola University's FAFSA Code Number is 002078. The FAFSA on the Web Worksheet  provides a preview of the questions that you will be asked while completing the FAFSA online.

A fact sheet, "Creating and Using Your FSA ID," is also available to assist users.

The best way to provide accurate income information on the FAFSA is by opting to use the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Data Retrieval Tool. This process allows eligible applicants and parents to retrieve tax return data from the IRS. Applicants who choose not to use this process may be required to provide an IRS tax return transcript to Loyola's Office of Financial Aid to verify income information provided on the FAFSA. Federal verification is a process required by the U.S. Department of Education to verify the accuracy of the information parents and students submit on the FAFSA.  Learn more about federal verification here.

3. Parents' and Student's 2016 Federal Tax Returns (IDOC)

Your 2016 Federal Tax Return and your parents’ 2016 Federal Tax Return information will be used to verify the financial information reported on the FAFSA and CSS Profile. Loyola participates in the College Board’s Institutional Documentation Service (IDOC) to collect parent and student tax return forms. After you file the PROFILE Application, the College Board will send you complete instructions for submitting your Federal Tax Return forms. IDOC Customer Support can be reached at 866-897-9881.
