The University currently offers two health care plans. They are CareFirst BlueCross/BlueShield Preferred Provider Network (BCBS PPO) and BlueChoice HMO (health maintenance organization). Beginning 7/1/2014, HealthyBlue HSA (high deductible health plan) will be added to Loyola's health care plans. All plans provide prescription coverage. Benefits are available on a pre-tax basis. Coverage options include Employee, Two-Party, and Family. Enrollment is optional and you may waive coverage if you are covered under another health plan. Health Savings Accounts from Tax Perspective

Contraceptive and sterilization services and procedures are not covered under any of the Loyola sponsored medical plans.  These services are available directly from CareFirst.  Access the benefit by providing your insurance card as you normally do to an in-network pharmacy (services and procedures will not be covered out-of-network).  CareFirst will in turn arrange payment directly to the pharmacy.  Contact CareFirst Member Services at 1-800-628-8549 for additional information.
