Graduate Assistant - Marketing and Assessment

Qualifications

Required 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Candidates must be enrolled in a full-time graduate degree program at Loyola University Maryland.  Graduate programs are listed at: http://www.loyola.edu/graduate.aspx
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills and the ability to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Knowledge about various college student experiences and challenges
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to coordinate, organize, and prioritize projects with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to begin work prior to or at the start of the department’s fall training in mid-August
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitive information

Preferred: 

  • Supervisory experience
  • Proficient with Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). 
  • Demonstrated proficiency with social media management, graphic design, and web publishing. 
  • Proficient with Qualtrics, or comparable survey, assessment, SPSS, and analysis software.
  • Proficient in developing learning outcomes, evaluations, and assessments.
  • Experience working with college students
  • General knowledge in the areas of recreational sports, facility maintenance, building supervision, and risk management
Responsibilities
  • Marketing
    • Manage and execute all department requests for marketing including: print materials, digital signage, website updates, and social media. 
    • Oversight and administration of the department’s social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
    • Design clear and engaging graphic communications for print and digital marketing. 
    • Represent the department at various orientations and information fairs. 
  • Assessment
    • Manage, initiate, and monitor departmental assessment.
    • Assist in the design and implementation of a department wide assessment model.
    • Assist in developing and implementing learning outcome and assessment workshops.
    • Assist in data analysis and presentation of assessment findings.
    • Represent the department at various orientations and information fairs. 
  • Other Responsibilities
    • Establish and maintain regular office hours that meets department needs.  In addition to office hours, night and weekend work will be required.  Assist with special events for the department.
    • Perform additional duties in support of the department and as requested by the primary supervisor or other department administrator or director.
    • Maintain current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification for the professional rescuer.
Terms Of Employment
  • Must fulfill all responsibilities outlined in this document and in the contract.  Failure to meet any of these responsibilities will result in job action.
  • Expected to adhere to all University policies.  Any violation of University policy shall result in probation or termination of employment.
  • The Department of Recreational Sports must approve all extracurricular activities, outside employment, or non-credit internships in writing.
Hours & Wages
  • $9,900 for 600 hours (300 hours per semester; approximately 20 hours per week)
  • Compensation can be given at 50% scholarship/50% stipend or 60% scholarship/40% stipend
