Graduate Assistantship – Programming & Administrative Support (Late Night)

Hours and Wages

  • 20 hours per week (including nights and weekends)
  • $13,500 stipend per academic year, which includes payment for up to 6 credits per semester and remaining amount paid as bi-weekly stipend

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time graduate degree program at Loyola University Maryland. 
  • Applicants with previous experience in extracurricular activities, strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and experience working with students are desired.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain regular office hours. In addition to office hours, some night and weekend work will be required.

  • Provide assistance to the Assistant Director of Student Activities with management and execution of Late Night programs including, but not limited to:
    • Assist with recruitment, selection, training, and supervision of campus activities board
    • Develop digital signage templates for Late Night events and populate templates with information promoting campus wide activities
    • Update weekly calendar for Late programs, coordinating the copying and dissemination of flyers to various offices and locations around campus
    • Provide information to Loyola Today for inclusion of upcoming events
    • Coordinate with various offices around campus to highlight programs that occur during the Late Night time frame.
    • Manage event tracking/swiping for Late Night programs to identify trends in participation in Late Night events

  • Plan and execute Late Night Coffeehouses, small scale, and large scale events when deemed necessary.

  • Provide assistance with the maintenance and updating of various social media tools used by the office including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. including, but not limited to:
    • Working with the work study students and the Office of Student Activities staff to take/gather photos from events and posting them on a weekly basis through the various social media outlets
    • Developing content to be used to update the various media outlet timelines/streams with relevant and current information on programs

  • Provide coverage at designated social events throughout the school year, which are assigned by virtue of the nature of events planned by the Office of Student Activities. Such events include:
    • Family Weekend (first week in October)
    • Late Night programs (as scheduled and sponsored)
    • Senior Class Social Events (Countdown events every 50 days throughout the year and Senior Week during the third week of May)
    • Loyolapalooza (end of April)
    • Other events as needed

  • Provide assistance to the Assistant Director of Student Activities, on an as needed basis, with the implementation of leadership development programs for the campus activities board throughout the year.

  • Provide support to the Office Assistant in the daily operations of the office, such as:
    • Staffing the front desk, answering phones, fielding questions on programs from students and parents, and general customer service

  • Participate in strategic planning of office initiatives and provide assistance in the implementation of assessment methods to measure achievements in meeting the defined learning outcomes at the departmental and divisional level.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director and Assistant Director(s) of Student Activities.
