$13,500 for a nine-month appointment (half stipend, half tuition).&; There will be an opportunity for summer employment paid at an hourly wage. Starting Date: August 2012.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor’s degree, and strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Candidate must gain acceptance in a Loyola University Graduate Program. Graduate programs include: Computer Science/Software Engineering, Liberal Studies, Pastoral Counseling, Psychology, Speech-Language Pathology, Theology, Education, Sellinger School of Business and Management.

Preferred: Experience in a supervisory capacity and experience working with students. General knowledge in the areas of recreational sports, facility maintenance, building supervision, and risk management.

Responsibilities

This position will assist the Associate Director with the daily operations, facilities, maintenance, safety/security and custodial needs of a 21.6 million dollar state-of-the-art Fitness and Aquatic Center. This position will also assist with facility parking issues on a daily basis and during event management. The graduate assistant oversee the student risk management coordinator(s) in maintaining first aid/medical inventory for all building workstations, programs, and clubs, as well as ensuring all recreational sports staff members and volunteers maintain all appropriate certifications (CPR, First Aid, etc.). Also, the graduate assistant will assist in managing the student Building Supervisors by attending all staff meetings, coordinating schedules, and serving as a substitute when needed.

Lastly, this position will support and help implement all department special events. Position requires 20 hours per week at minimum.
