Emotional Intelligence for Success

This workshop is for all employees to learn about the benefits of recognizing feelings in yourself and others, managing emotions, and balancing thoughts and feelings. These traits are associated with “emotional intelligence” and can improve the chances of leading a successful life. The seminar will examine the impact of emotional intelligence or “EQ” at home and at work. You’ll learn that by recognizing the feelings of family members and co-workers and responding in a balanced, rational way, you can improve relationships and collaborate more effectively at work. The seminar also examines new brain research on emotions and the battle between the emotional and the thinking brain.

The Sandwich Generation: Strategies for Multi-Generational Caregiving

Since the percentage is expected to increase to as much as 60% of all families in the next decade, this seminar provides a timely overview of how to cope as a member of the “sandwich generation.” You will identify common family dynamics—from seniors who feel anger and shame at losing their independence and role in society, to children who are confused, frustrated, and embarrassed by a grandparent’s decline. As stress increases, you will learn how to identify the triggers that indicate you may need more help and outside services.

This workshop is designed for all employees who have worked with someone who makes work impossible. But it doesn't have to be that way. From chronic complainers to idea-stealers to boundary pushers, a toxic co-worker can ruin your day! The amount of time spent worrying, avoiding, raging and obsessing over toxic employees can affect performance on the job and peace at home. In this session participants will learn to recognize the symptoms of a negative workplace relationship and the role each plays in these situations; set boundaries and control reactions to coworkers who cross those boundaries; and “unhook” from difficult interpersonal situations at work.
