Each semester the National Fellowships Office  hosts information sessions and workshops on various scholarships and research opportunities. In the fall of 2015, events are scheduled for the following awards:

The Harry S. Truman Scholarship  grants $30,000 in scholarship money toward the graduate education of U.S. college juniors who have demonstrated leadership potential and a commitment to public service.  

The Fulbright Scholarship  allows graduating seniors to study, conduct an independent project, or teach English abroad.  

The Gilman and Boren scholarships provide for or partial funding for graduate and undergraduate study abroad programs.

The RISE Scholarship  permits undergraduate students in science, math, engineering, and technology disciplines to conduct research in Germany. Knowledge of German is not required.

The Udall Scholarship promotes  leadership, education, collaboration, and conflict resolution in the areas of environment, public lands, and natural resources in order to strengthen Native nations, assist federal agencies and others to resolve environmental conflicts, and to encourage the continued use and appreciation of our nation’s rich resources.

How to Win Academic Awards Workshops train students in how to find scholarship opportunities, prepare applications, write personal and purpose statements, and secure strong letters of recommendation.
