Shuttle Bus

• The department of transportation provides scheduled shuttle service to and from the parking facilities located at York Road, the Fitness and Aquatic Center and the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen.
• All sheltered bus stops are equipped with emergency phones linked directly to the campus police communications center.
• Additionally, if shuttle buses and the student escort/monitor program are not operating, escorts by uniformed police officers are available on request 24-hours a day.

Student Escort/Monitor Program

The program is coordinated under the direction of the director of public safety by the commander of the midnight shift (12a.m.-8a.m.). In keeping with the department's commitment to a collaborative and cooperative spirit, the coordinator of the escort monitor program and the director of public safety maintain an open door policy.

The student Escort/monitor coordinator is directly responsible for the day-to-day operation, recruitment, personnel actions, scheduling and record keeping for the program.

Student Escort/Monitor Procedure

The Student Escort/Monitor will be responsible for not only providing safe escorts on campus, but also assisting campus police in providing safety and security in designated areas.

Van Service

Two escort/monitors (driver and escort/monitor captain) will be assigned a radio-equipped van for the purpose of providing escorts to students traveling to on-campus locations, such as the library. When there are no requests for the van service, the escort/monitor captain will fulfill her/his duties by doing rounds in the van, checking on the well-being of the escort/monitors.
