Course Offerings

Students may review course offerings beginning December 16, 2016 using either of the following methods:

  • Go to inside.loyola.edu and login, then select WebAdvisor for Students Registration Search for Sections. Select section name and course title hyperlinks for more information, including requisites, restrictions, and course descriptions.
  • Go to inside.loyola.edu and login, then select Course Listings under Quick Links. You may use Course Listings to save to a preferred sections list prior to or during the open registration period; however, you must use WebAdvisor to actually register for those courses.

Once the course schedule becomes available, students can add classes to preferred sections prior to the start of registration. Adding classes to preferred sections eliminates the need to search for sections at time of registration, but does not save a space in the class. On the day of registration, students must complete the process in order to enroll.

Web Registration

Continuing undergraduate students, including those students studying abroad, may use WebAdvisor from any computer with web access to register for summer courses. Students must know their username and password (same as Loyola email) to access WebAdvisor. If you do not know your username and password or you need to have your password reset, contact the Student Technology Center at 410-617-5555.

To access WebAdvisor, go to inside.loyola.edu and login, then select WebAdvisor for Students Registration Undergraduate Registration.

Note: WebAdvisor operates effectively with the following internet browsers:

- PCs: Internet Explorer 9.0, 10, 11; Firefox 19, 21, 24, 28, 32, 36
- Macs: Safari 6.0, 6.1, 6.2, 7.0, 7.1, 8; Firefox 19, 21, 24, 28, 32, 36

When working within WebAdvisor, it is best not to use the browser Back button. Also, do not keep a number of tabs open, as it slows the registration process. More than six open tabs results in an error message: You cannot open more than 6 tabs at one time. Please close any you are finished with.

When can I use WebAdvisor?

Summer 2017 Session I: February 27, 2017, 9 a.m. – May 23, 2017, 5 p.m.

Summer 2017 Session II: February 27, 2017, 9 a.m. – July 10, 2017, 5 p.m.

Summer 2017 Alternate Session: February 27, 2017, 9 a.m. – May 23, 2017, 5 p.m.

Prior to May 23, when registering for summer alternate courses, you may use WebAdvisor for up to 5 days prior to the course's start date; thereafter, you must register via Mail-In Registration or in person prior to the end of Late Registration.

Summer WebAdvisor registration will be temporarily closed until 5 p.m. on the following dates:

  • March 22, and 29, and April 5 due to Fall 2017 registration for current students.
  • June 16, 20, 23, and 27, and potentially June 30 due to Fall 2017 orientation for new students.

Who is eligible to register for the summer using WebAdvisor?

Only continuing undergraduate students, including those students studying abroad, are eligible to use WebAdvisor for summer registration.

Newly admitted, readmitted, first-time transfer, visiting, or special students must register in person. Contact the Academic Advising and Support Center (AASC) for an appointment, 410-617-5050.

How do I prepare for summer web registration?

  1. Review course offerings using WebAdvisor, Search for Sections or Course Listings beginning December 16, 2016.

  2. Consult with AASC in-person (MH 138), by phone (410-617-5050), or email (aasc@loyola.edu). They will advise you on the courses needed to complete your degree requirements and check for completion of, or current registration for, necessary prerequisites.

  3. Provide AASC with evidence of permission for all courses requiring permission of the instructor, unless the department gives electronic permission.

  4. After advising you about your course eligibility, AASC will enter an electronic code for each course giving you access to register using WebAdvisor.

How do I pay for courses when using WebAdvisor?

Students using WebAdvisor are billed on May 5, 2017 for summer registration charges and fees. Payment is due upon receipt of the summer bill.

Mail-in Registration

The Undergraduate Part-Time Registration Request Form is available at the Records Office (MH 141), or call 410-617-2263 to have a form mailed to you. Important: All completed Registration Request Forms must include the section number after the course key; ex., CH 101 01 General Chemistry I.

Mail-in registrations with payment in full are accepted through May 16, 2017 for Summer Session I and through July 14, 2017 for Summer Session II. After these dates, registrations must be signed by a administrator from the Academic Advising and Support Center (MH 138) and submitted in person to the Records Office (MH 141). Third party billing (payment by employer or agency) is acceptable in place of payment if the registration is accompanied by the proper forms which have been approved by the third party. If registration, with tuition and fees, has not been submitted by 7:30 p.m., May 30, 2017 for Summer Session I and Summer Alternate Session or 4:30 p.m., July 14, 2017 for Summer Session II, an additional non-refundable late payment fee of $25 is charged.

Submission of registration by a student incurs the obligation to pay all tuition and fees. Requests to withdraw from a course must be submitted in writing on a Change of Registration Form (applies to all students once Web Registration closes). Non-payment of tuition, mere non-attendance at class, or permission from an instructor to withdraw from a course does not constitute official withdrawal from the course. Unless approval is received from the Academic Advising and Support Center, a grade of F will be entered on the student's permanent record. In case of inability to return to campus, please contact the Academic Advising and Support Center, 410-617-5050 or aasc@loyola.edu.

Mail-In Registration for Study Abroad Students

  1. Review course offerings using WebAdvisor, Search for Sections or Course Listings beginning December 16, 2016.

  2. Student Permission: Email your parent/guardian giving them your permission to complete the Undergraduate Part-Time Registration Request Form on your behalf. To obtain a registration form, contact the Records Office, 410-617-2263. The form will be mailed to your permanent home address.

  3. Registration/Payment: The Undergraduate Part-Time Registration Request Form signed by the parent/guardian, along with a printed copy of the student's email permission, may be either mailed or hand-delivered to the Records Office. Costs can be found under Tuition and Fees.

The Academic Advising and Support Center (AASC) signs the registration form, and the registration is processed. The courses then appear on WebAdvisor for Students > Registration > My Class Schedule. If there are any registration problems, AASC contacts the student via email.

Confirmation

Once you have finished web registering or your registration request form has been processed, be certain to check WebAdvisor for Students Registration > My Class Schedule to confirm accurate registration processing. This schedule will display finalized classroom assignments approximately two weeks prior to the start of classes.

Late Registration

Students who have not registered for classes by the close of either Web or Mail-In Registration must contact the Academic Advising and Support Center (AASC) to register, as follows:

Summer 2017 Session I: May 31–June 1, 2017

Summer 2017 Session II: July 17–18, 2017

Summer 2017 Alternate Session: May 31–June 1, 2017

Students with approved summer alternate session internships may register through July 18, 2017.
