Department of Recreational Sports

Annie Marshall

Assistant Director of Recreational Sports

(Business Operations and Marketing)

Formerly a Minnesota native, Annie Marshall joined the department of recreational sports staff in 2013.  In her role as the Assistant Director of Business Operations and Marketing, Annie is responsible for the 'business details' of the department including customer relations, member communication, rec sports software management and revenue generation. She provides oversight and staff supervision of the Welcome Desk and Member Services and the Graduate Assistant for Student Development and Operations.

Annie graduated Cum Laude from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota in 1992, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Music. She went on to receive her Master of Arts degree in Education from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1997 with an elementary education teaching certification.  She was an elementary teacher in Minnesota for ten years with additional experience focused on children living in homeless shelters and humane education for animals.  This love for education translates well in the Department of Rec Sports as Annie involves herself in student development and leadership endeavors.

In her spare time Annie enjoys running, biking and swimming--all with the goal of achieving her personal best in running and triathlons! Annie plays the saxophone and loves jazz music, most recently taking up the ukulele for a fun, musical challenge.  She can often be found in the woods with her four-legged kids or in the backyard with her spouse, Meridith, turning their house into a home.
