Academic Monitoring

The Student-Athlete Support Services Office regularly monitors the academic progress and grades of all student-athletes. Athletic advisors are in contact with instructors through progress reports, phone calls and emails throughout the semester.

Progress reports are shared with student-athletes and coaches. The reports are designed to assess each student-athlete's academic performance and professors are asked to give feedback on class attendance, assignment completion and grades, and test/quiz scores. This information is used to identify problem areas and make recommendations for improvement.

In the event that a problem is discovered, the athletic advisor works with the student-athlete to develop strategies to address the problem. If necessary, the Student-Athlete Support Services Office may consult with faculty and staff from various academic and administrative units to enhance the student-athlete’s academic experience.
