We are pleased to inform you that the student health insurance plan for the 2016-2017 academic year is being underwritten by United Healthcare Insurance Company. Download a brief overview of the plan.
Domestic and International Undergraduate Students
In an effort to ensure students’ physical and financial health, Loyola University Maryland requires all full-time undergraduate students to have health insurance during the 2016-17 academic year.
You are required to either enroll online in the Loyola-sponsored Student Health Insurance plan, or submit an online request to waive coverage. To waive coverage, your plan must have comparable coverage based on Loyola’s waiver criteria. Please review your current plan to be sure that your benefits extend to the Maryland area.
To enroll in or waive coverage, visit www.firststudent.com.
**Spring 2017 Enrollment Begins December 1, 2016 and the Deadline is February 15, 2017. If you do not take action by February 15, 2017, you will be automatically enrolled in the student health insurance and the charge will not be refunded.**
The Rates for the 2016-17 Loyola-sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan:
Annual: $1,823 (for the period 8/15/16 – 8/14/17)
Spring: $1,128 (for the period of 1/1/17 - 8/14/17) **new students only
For assistance or questions with online enrollment or the waiver process, please contact Paige Fritze at 800-346-4075 ext. 1607 or email email@example.com.
We expect that you will have a healthy year, but we strongly recommend that you make an informed decision about your health insurance coverage while you are a student at Loyola University.
