The Assistant Director for Student Conduct, a live-off position, provides direct support for the administration of all aspects of the Loyola University undergraduate student conduct process. This person works closely with faculty, staff, administrators, campus organizations, Campus Police and legal counsel as needed, in maintaining and promoting the community standards both on and off campus. The Assistant Director provides direct supervision for one graduate assistant, serves on an emergency on-call rotation, and along with the Director, the Associate Directors and other Assistant Directors, provides leadership and vision for the Office of Student Life in order to enhance the comprehensive development of students’ residential experience at Loyola.

Primary Job Responsibilities
- Adjudicate and manage weekly caseload of infractions of the Community Standards.
- Recruit, select, train, and advise the Peer Conduct Board and University Board on Discipline.
- Serve as Title IX investigator.
- Provide ongoing training and assistance to RAs and GRCs with regard to their roles in enforcement of the Student Code of Conduct.
- Attend weekly meetings with Campus Police and assist in the coordination of investigations.
- Work with other staff to potentially address off-campus conduct issues and help facilitate neighborhood relations.
- Collaborate with other offices to provide educational resources for students on the Community Standards, alcohol education, and peer education.
- Maintain conduct records and conduct software program database.
- Remain abreast of current laws and best practices related to student conduct. \
- Oversee the development, marketing, and management of the “Be a Good Hound” campaign.
- Assist in the development of roommate conflict/resolution and restorative justice programs.
- Train staff in areas of conflict resolution, mediation, and community development.
- Mediate serious roommate conflicts and student issues as needed.
- Serve in the on-call duty rotation for campus-wide emergencies, 2-3 times per semester, with other Assistant Directors. During rotation, must report on campus within 30 minutes of call to duty.
- Respond to emergencies in all areas of residential living spaces and access ways.
- Respond to campus emergencies as needed with other Student Life staff.
- Provide support for one graduate assistant who works in the main office and has primary responsibilities for aspects of the student conduct system (i.e., student follow up, administrative paperwork, camera review, etc.)
- Monitor staff issues and provide assistance in addressing concerns.
- Assist in the ongoing development of RAs/GRCs by attending in-service trainings, all staff meetings
- Assist the housing operations staff when needed with housing processes such as hall opening/closing, room selection, etc.
- Attend weekly staff meetings.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support the aims of Loyola’s Living Learning Initiative – Messina.
- Complete other duties as assigned by Director and/or Associate Directors.
- Master's degree in college student personnel, higher education administration, and/or counseling or related field
- 1-3 years post-graduate professional experience with 1-3 years serving as a student conduct officer
- Demonstrated ability to support and advocate for underrepresented students
- Availability during night and weekend hours
- Ability to respond to campus within 30 minutes of call to duty.
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal).
- Strengths in developing students’ understanding of identity development, privilege, oppression, social justice, bias, and/or inclusive language/actions
- Experience in planning and executing training programs
- A desire and ability to incorporate an educational philosophy toward student conduct
- Demonstrated ability to assess complex situations and render fair judgments, maintain ethical and professional standards
