First-Year Special Interest Housing
Alpha House is a community specifically designed for first year students in the Alpha Program. While not all students in Alpha are in Alpha Housing, those in Alpha Housing will be able to participate in monthly programs hosted by an Alpha faculty member.
Collegium is a program designed to form a close knit community of first year students. In addition to being housed on the Collegium floor, students are placed in two of the same courses as other students on their floor.
Coming to Loyola also means coming to Baltimore – Your new home for the next four years. The Experience Baltimore Community for first-year students help acquaint students with the sights and sounds of Baltimore. Students will have the opportunity to visit a variety of Baltimore’s diverse neighborhoods and will learn about the strengths and challenges facing our city. Through cultural trips, service projects and meeting the people of city, we will all learn how we can truly experience Baltimore and become good neighbors. Substance Free Community
Loyola offers substance free housing to help students make the transition to Loyola in a friendly and welcoming environment. This double-style, substance free living community is for those students who genuinely desire to live in an environment where all residents and their guests agree to keep the area free of all alcohol, drug and tobacco products. Residents agree to create an environment in which they are respectful of one another and, as a result, foster a living atmosphere that is respectful of healthy lifestyles. Members of the community also have the opportunity to work with their Resident Assistant to plan activities and outings that promote a positive community and deep relationships. In addition to offering a substance free community, Loyola also offers a substance free room option to students who would prefer to have substance free roommates in another type of residential setting, themed community or living-learning program.

Ad Infinitum Sophomore Year Community
The Ad Infinitum Sophomore Community is an intentional community designed to support you through your sophomore year journey at Loyola University. In a year when students grapple with issues of identity, relationships and academic choices, Ad Infinitum is a place where you can find support from the Office of Student Life, the Office of Sophomore Initiatives and your peers. Support comes through a host of community programs addressing issues such as studying abroad, career and internship exploration, strengthening friendships, personal reflection, spiritual guidance and vocational discernment. The goal of Ad Infinitum is simple, yet powerful – we want you and your friends to live and learn better together.
Upper-Class Substance Free Community
The Office of Student Life strives to support the healthy and holistic development of all students.
