An arboretum is a collection many different of trees and shrubs, grown together for study and/or display.
Here at Loyola, our trees mean so much more than that. We have developed comprehensive tree care and replacement plans, are creating walking tours for the community, and are developing new ways for our students to interact with, and learn from, the trees.
In addition to our tree collections, our campus is peppered with local shrubs, grasses, and wildflowers, bringing nature onto the grounds for the entire community to enjoy.
We became a certified arboretum in December 2013. Read the Loyola News story about our certification!
