Accessing Your Loyola Email Account After Office 365 Upgrade

All Loyola University Maryland student and alumni email accounts were upgraded to Microsoft Office 365 between June 6-10, 2013 to improve services and add new features. New benefits and features include:

  • Inbox storage space increase from 10 GB to 25 GB
  • A password that will work for email and inside.loyola.edu 
  • Improved spam filtering and malware protection
  • A new link to access email via web browser

For students, this upgrade required your email password to be automatically reset to your existing inside.loyola.edu password. For alumni, this upgrade required your email password to be automatically reset to the password you used to log onto Loyola’s intranet platform when you were a student. Below are instructions for how to access your email and what to do if you’re having trouble with your password.

Students

To access your email via web browser, go to http://houndmail.loyola.edu

Username/password

Your username is the same as it was before the upgrade. Your password is now the same password you use to log into inside.loyola.edu.

If you do not know your Inside Loyola password, please contact the OTS help center at 410-617-5555 for assistance.

Mobile

If you already have your Loyola email set up on your mobile device (smartphone, tablet, etc.), enter your new password in the email app.

Additional information

What will happen to my current emails and contacts?

Your existing messages, appointments, contacts, etc., will be automatically migrated to Office 365.

How do I set up Loyola email on my mobile device?

If you are setting up email on your mobile device for the first time, you can find instructions by going to help.outlook.com/en-us/140/dd936215.aspx. Choose your phone type from the drop down list and then choose ‘Set up Microsoft Exchange E-mail’ in the second drop down menu.

What will happen to my SkyDrive files?

SkyDrive files are now a part of your personal Microsoft account and will not change. You can still access your files by navigating to skydrive.live.com. This username and password will remain the same as it is today with Live@Edu. Note that Loyola no longer administers this account. As a result, we cannot reset the password for you. You can use https://account.live.com/ResetPassword.aspx to reset the password for your personal Microsoft account after the upgrade.
