Overview of major

Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. Students are exposed to many specialty areas of psychology, while obtaining a solid, broad-based appreciation of the discipline as a whole. Graduates may venture into human services, business, law, medicine, or careers in mental health (counseling, social work), which almost always require advanced education and training, at least through the master’s level.

The Career Center at Loyola University Maryland conducts an annual follow-up survey with new Loyola graduates between six and nine months after Commencement to paint a comprehensive picture of the professional paths each class has chosen.
