Internal Reservation Process

The following procedures guide the scheduling of classes and events. Classroom and conference space can be reserved by members of the Loyola community for University business through the Event Services office at Timonium.

Please note that all space at Timonium must be scheduled through Event Services.

Priorities

Scheduling procedures require that the following priorities be honored:

  • Degree programs;
  • Certificate programs;
  • Program-Related Review Courses;
  • Continuing Education;
  • Degree Program-Related Workshops;
  • Unrelated Workshops;
  • Other Review Courses;
  • Unrelated ad hoc events and;
  • Third party rentals (but once a contract is signed we honor that contract)

Priority Use

Classrooms that have been classified for "priority use" must be scheduled according to the following parameters:

Day

Room 07 - Friday-Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. for the Executive MBA Program
Rooms 05, 09, 11 - Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. for the Executive and Fellows MBA Program

Evening

Rooms 41, 60A - Education Counseling courses
Room 24 - Education Physical Science courses
Room 62 - Education Mathematical Science courses

Class Time

Due to different departmental class times, classes must be scheduled according to these limitations. For example, most Education classes begin at 4:30 p.m. and end at 7 p.m. whereas most evening MBA classes begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 9 p.m. These differences eliminate potential interdepartmental use of the classrooms.

Class Size

The first priority for scheduling of classes is in accommodating class size. Classes with larger enrollment are scheduled first.

Class Technology

Classes that require specific technology are accommodated after class size and time restrictions have been evaluated.

Classroom Arrangement

Faculty preferences for specific room arrangements will be honored after class size, time restrictions, and technology requirements have been met. Please know that the Timonium team will work diligently to find a way to meet faculty needs.

If you have particular requirements for teaching a course at Timonium, please contact the facility scheduler at ext. 1998 with your room request as soon as you have made the commitment.
