Dr. Franz received his Ph.D. from Loyola University of Chicago. Dr. Franz teaches a wide range of courses dealing with political philosophy, and has published a book on the sources of ideology.
The Political Science Department is excited to announce that Dr. Doug Harris has joined our faculty in a full-time, tenure track position, beginning in the Fall 2002 semester. Dr. Harris received his Ph.D. in political science from the Johns Hopkins University in 1998. He comes to Loyola from the University of Texas at Dallas where he served as Assistant Professor of Political Science. Dr. Harris will be teaching courses on the Congress, Political Parties, and American Politics. Harris replaces congressional scholar Dr. Donald T. Wolfe, who retired in May, 2001.
Dr. Holc received her Ph.D. from the Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Holc teaches courses on international relations and international political economy. Her research focus is Poland and Eastern Europe.
Dr. Hula received his Ph.D. from Harvard University. Dr. Hula teaches courses dealing with American Politics, focusing primarily on the presidency, intelligence, and interest groups. He published Lobbying Together: Interest Group Coalitions in Legislative Politics in 1999, and has updated and abridged the 4th and 5th editions of the Challenge of Democracy, Brief ed.
William Kitchin received his doctorate from The Johns Hopkins University and his J.D. from the University of Baltimore. He teaches constitutional law, criminal law, Russian law, and American politics, and has recently supervised independent studies in antitrust law and public defense. Dr. Kitchin's primary area of research is Russian law and Russian constitutional reform. He is also Loyola's Pre-law Advisor.
Dr. Schaub received her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Dr. Schaub teaches and writes on a wide range of issues in political philosophy and American Political Thought. Her new book is entitled Erotic Liberalism: Women and Revolution in Montesquieu's "Persian Letters".
Dr. Wolfe graduated from the Overbrook School in Nashville, TN, and received his Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University. His specialty is American politics, with an emphasis on the Senate. He now heads the Murfreesboro internship program.
