If you are thinking about taking courses at other schools:
Courses must be aproved in advance.
For summer school courses, submit your request following the directions at http://www.loyola.edu/aasc/forms/ctdirections.html. Requests are submitted to the Academic Advising and Support Center before consideration by the Political Science department. If additional information is required beyond that requested on the Advising Office form, you may be asked to provide a syllabus for the course you would like to take.
Keep in mind:
- Courses must be taken at an accredited four-year college or university.
- You have to get course approval from Loyola (both the Advising Office and the Department Chair) before you actually take the course.
- You cannot take PS 101 or PS 102 at another school; you must
take those two courses here at Loyola.
- The Department asks that students seeking to fulfill their
social science core requirements take those requirements here
at Loyola. Courses taken at other institutions will not count
for either of the two social science core requirements, although
they may count as electives, or as major courses if the student
is a Political Science major. Generally speaking, only PS 101 and PS 102, taken here
at Loyola, will satisfy those requirements.
- Check with the Academic Advising and Support Center to make sure
College-wide policy allows you to take the course at another
school; there are rules regarding the number of credits that need to be taken at Loyola.
