Support Services

DSS helps arrange accommodations, adjustments, and equipment for students with disabilities. Based on a student's disability and needs, services could include the following:

  • Accessible housing
  • Adaptive equipment/technology
  • Advocacy
  • Alternative testing arrangements (e.g., extended time)
  • Assistance physically getting around campus
  • Counseling referral
  • Help with study skills
  • Maryland Relay
  • Notetakers
  • Readers/recorded books
  • Referral to appropriate services (on or off campus)
  • Sign language interpreters
  • Taped lectures
  • Tutoring
  • Other services as needed

  1. Strategies for Success is a pre-orientation workshop for incoming students offered on August 29th and August 30th. Click here for more information, or click here to download a flyer about the program.
  2. Read&Write Gold is a toolbar which works with other programs (such as Word) and has lots of features to help with reading, writing and studying. Check it out! Loyola purchased a license and can install this software on students’ laptops. If you would like this software installed on your computer please contact Marcia Wiedefeld at mwiedefeld@loyola.edu
