Bio

Mary Hyman received her B.A. degree in Sociology/Anthropology from Goucher College in 1971 and a M.S. degree with a concentration in Adult Education from the Johns Hopkins University in 1977. In her more than thirty-five years in education, she has been Director of Education for the Maryland Academy of Sciences; Coordinator for Science Education Programs at Loyola College in Maryland; and Coordinator of the Institute for Child Care Education (ICCE), also at Loyola College. The Institute for Child Care Education offers training for child care providers throughout the state of Maryland. Ms. Hyman has been the recipient numerous awards of distinction, including the Johns Hopkins University Award for Meritorious Service and the Maryland Distinguished Women Award conferred by the Governor. Current appointments include the Goucher College Board of Trustees; the Board of the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth; the Board of the Baltimore City Child Care Association; the Board of the Maryland School-Age Child Care Alliance, the Board of the Youth Services Committee, Baltimore County Local Management Board. Board Member - Phi Beta Kappa of Greater Baltimore, Board Member – Baltimore Museum of Art, Member - Maryland State Gifted and Talented Education Advisory Council, Board of Visitors – Franklin and Marshall College.
