ET630 Agenda Class 6 - Virtual Class
- Questions and Announcements
- Web 2.0 Project Due Today (by 4:30 pm)
- Hand this in by emailing me the URL or submitting it via
the assignment in Moodle
- Upcoming Projects
- Critical Information Literacy Project is due in two classes
- Telecollaborative and Web Site Projects are due in four classes
- Let me know if you need flexibility on these dates
(including swapping the due dates of the Critical Information Literacy
and Telecollaborative Projects)
- Questions
- VoiceThread Update
- Don't forget to respond to the VoiceThread each week (responses
don't have to be long)
- Kristen and Katie are tonight
- Jackie and Aime are next week
- Special Virtual Class Rules
- Because of the virtual class, Kristen and Katie will discuss
their VoiceThread in any way they choose
- They may choose to use technology to create their own and
combine them (probably too much work)
- They may choose to get together physically and do it
- Or they may choose to have one create the main video and the
other respond with a comment (be sure to view the comment)
- They have until Wednesday evening to create the VoiceThread
so watch for it Wednesday night or later
- CSS - about 2 hours
- Go through the following CSS Tutorial: http://www.w3schools.com/css/default.asp
- Skim parts you already know
- Be sure to play with CSS using the Try It Yourself Feature
- Everyone should be able to get through the sections: CSS Basic,
CSS Styling, CSS Box Model (we have already covered most of those
sections in class)
- Try to get through as much of the Advanced section as you can
(focusing on ways to layout your page)
- Spend about two hours going through the tutorial (less if you
are already comfortable)
- CSS Practice - about 1 hour
- Try to create something interesting with CSS.
- If you are at the basic level, just try to create a couple of
pages with interesting styling (CSS Styling) and some bordered areas
(CSS Box Model). For example, get paragraphs indented and spaced the
way you want.
- If you are already comfortable with basic styling, try to
create pages with different layouts, perhaps playing with:
- CSS Discussion
- Send questions, answers to others' questions, and comments to
the class list (et-hcpss2@listserv.loyola.edu)
- I will make an extra effort to answer questions during our
regular class time, but I will answer questions at other times as well
- Exit Ticket
- Send an email to the class list (et-hcpss2@listserv.loyola.edu)
with the subject "Exit Ticket"
- This email should contain a link to your most interesting CSS
page that you developed while playing
- This page can be something you developed just to play with the
features, or it can be something you plan to use for your Web Site
Project
- CSS Resources
- Assignments:
- Exit Ticket (see above)
- Read additional readings on Moodle (if any)
- Respond to VoiceThread
