Columbia Laboratory Access

Many of you will choose to use the computer laboratory on the Columbia campus to complete your assignments for this class. This computer laboratory is available to you 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, as long as the lab has not been reserved for another purpose (the lab may also be closed during some school vacations). The lab is located on the first floor, across from the bookstore.

In order to access the lab, you will need your regular student ID card (be sure you have one of the new ID cards issued in 2009 or later--you know you have a new card if it says "Loyola University Maryland" on it). You can also obtain this card at the main Baltimore campus in the Student Administrative Services office in Maryland Hall and at the Timonium campus. For more information about obtaining this card at Columbia, call the Columbia Campus main number at 410-617-7600. This card can be used to access the main lab, the resource center, copying facilities, and vending facilities.

Also in Columbia is a Student Lounge, which contains a few computers. If the lab is in use, you may use the computers in the Student Lounge. This lounge is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week with card-key access as noted above.

Although the Columbia classrooms are only available during certain hours, the student-use computer lab is available at all times, but you must have a card. This card can be held near the card reader outside the lab door to open the door.

If you are driving a long distance to get to campus, don't be surprised. Be sure you have a card and call in advance. You might want to call the Columbia Center (410-617-7600) to be sure that everything is operational.
