Agenda: Class 5
ET605 Introduction to Educational Technology
David Marcovitz
Virtual Class
- Announcements
- Keep up the great work on the discussions at Moodle
- Discuss Article: PowerPoint
- All discussion will take place on Moodle.
- Begin the discussion as soon as you have read the article(s)
- Read next class's article, but don't comment on it until after next class
- PowerPoint
- If you need basic skills in PowerPoint, review the appropriate sites below
- Everyone should look at the appropriate version of the video:
- Hyperlinking in PowerPoint 2007 (video, 7 minutes)
- Hyperlinking in PowerPoint 2008 (video, 28 minutes)
- If you looked at the 2007 version, you might want to watch
the last 1/3rd of the 2008 video (starting with the special note about
commas in slide titles). The rest of the video has stuff that I did not
include in the 2007 video, but it is important stuff. You should be
able to figure out how to do all of it in your version from watching
the video.
- PowerPoint Activity
- Click here to see a diagram of the slides.
-
Create a multiple-choice quiz with three questions
-
Include buttons for each answer that link to a slide that tells whether the answer was right or wrong
-
Have the right and wrong slides return the student to the question
(easy with a link to "Last Slide Viewed”) or move on to the next
question (harder)
- Save in kiosk mode and as a PowerPoint Show
- Email me any questions
- Hand in under Class 5 in Moodle
- Assignments
- Complete PowerPoint activity before next class
- Read Article 5: The Frontier of Classroom Technology (read the six parts)
- Post responses to tonight's discussion about Article 4: PowerPoint
- Keep up with technology skills (practice if necessary; set up
time to see me if necessary)
- Send general comments to the class listserv: et605@googlegroups.com
