ET620 Mutlimedia Design in the Classroom

• Listen to Announcements and Questions as Whole Class
  
• PowerPoint With VBA is due in 2 classes
• Next class, we will be creating digital stories.
• Bring 5-7 personal pictures that will help you tell a story.
• The story can be about your family, your school, your hobbies, your childhood, your neighborhood, your place of worship, etc.
• If the pictures are in digital form, that is best.
• Questions
• Listen to Intro about Digital Video Warm-up: work in pairs (at least one Mac with iMovie in each pair) as Whole Class
  
• Download the video at http://site.aace.org/video/books/teaching/science/science7.cfm
• Use Firefox Download Helper, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/, if you don't have another way to download
• Convert video to .mov file
• Use Zamzar, http://www.zamzar.com/, if you don't have any other way to convert it
• Load video into iMovie, click the button to show the sound wave, expand the video to show 1/2 second per thumbnail
• Use the distance in the sound waves to approximate the speed of sound
• Listen to Intro about Final Project Group Work Time
• Identify partners
• Identify topic for project
• Identify tasks for group members
• Continue Working Individually on VBA from the Morning - Help Each Other

• Windows users: install either Photostory 3 or Windows MovieMaker (both free) if you don't already have one or both

• Try to work through examples in Marcovitz, Chapter 8; only try stuff in Chapter 9 if you are comfortable with most of the tricks through Chapter 8
• Reading: Hofer: Digital Moviemaking
• Project 2: PowerPoint With VBA due in 2 classes
