- Approximate Schedule for This Afternoon:
- 5 minutes: Discuss readings
- 100 minutes: Work on VBA
- 45 minutes: Introduction to Video Project
- Discussion of Readings
- Normally, I would spend a short time discussing the
chapters from Ivers and Barron, but the book is pretty straightforward,
and we are crunched for time from my absence
- Develop: Media Components (I&B Chapter 5)
- Develop: Authoring Systems (I&B Chapter 6, especially page 126)
- A Scenario: page 131
- Templates (see Marcovitz, Chapter 12)
- Chapter 7: Evaluate
- Group Grades vs. Indidvidual Grades
- Rubrics
- Hofer: Digital Moviemaking
- More VBA
- Anything we didn't get to in the morning
- Independent Work on VBA
- Everyone should be able to copy the examples through Chapter 8
- Most of you should be able to create projects that use many techniques from the textbook without copying all VBA
- Practice on your own in class and during the “week”
- Ask me for help
- Digital Video
- Example videos
- Form video groups (not necessarily final project groups) and brainstorm ideas (Decide phase)
- Plan enough to know what props to bring next time
- Schedule (almost all work will be done in class giving you time to work on final projects outside of class):
- Class 4: Introduction to iMovie on iPods
- Class 4: Design phase
- Class 4: Begin shooting video (Develop phase)
- Class 5: Continue shooting video and begin editing (Develop phase) - if necessary
- Class 5: Finish Editing - if necessary
