E-Learning is a an approach to facilitate and enhance learning by means of personal computers and the Internet.  E-Learning is a flexible and learner-focused.  Some of the many advantages of E-Learning are that just-in-time learning is possible and courses are tailored to the specific needs of the learner.  It is an effective and efficient way of learning because it is easy to access and the pace is determined by the learner.

Here, at Loyola College, we offer three excellent E-Learning resources:  SkillSoft, Element K and the Microsoft E-Learning Library.  Below are short descriptions of each, along with links to more information.


SkillSoft

SkillSoftLoyola's on-line learning resource, SkillSoft, enables employees to learn at work or at home. SkillSoft can be accessed via the Internet from any computer, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Access more than 500 courses in areas such as Dealing with Conflict and Confrontation, Time Management, Fast Tracking Your Career, Project Management, Business Communication and Personal Financial Management.

Element K

Element KYou are about to tap into one of the most important resources at Loyola College.  Through Element K, you can access and take hundreds of on-line courses that cover the latest and greatest software applications.  Most of the applications, which you use here at Loyola, have a corresponding set of courses.  Since Element K’s software training is on-line, you can access the courses anywhere, any time...  All you need is an active Internet connection, a Web browser and a healthy thirst for knowledge!

Microsoft E-Learning LibraryThe Microsoft E-Learning Library (MELL) provides high-quality training and reference resources for using Microsoft software. At present, more than 30 courses are offered covering everything from an introduction to Microsoft Office to advanced Web page techniques in Microsoft FrontPage. Each course offers:  high-quality, Web browser-based training; reliable, in-depth content; engaging simulations and interactive exercises; powerful search tools that provide quick and easy access to the information you need when you need it; focused lessons on specific subjects to help you quickly learn exactly what you need to know; the ability to send and receive shortcut links to relevant help topics.
