Biography I have been teaching at Loyola part-time (one class a semester) since the Spring 2005 semester. My full-time job is a Senior Economist in the Office of the Actuary at the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). In this job, which I have had since 2001, I primarily work on short-run (10 years) and long-run (75 years) projections of national health spending. Before I came to CMS, I worked as a Economist for the Government Division at the Bureau of Economic Analysis for seven years on the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) estimates. My wife Kara and I live in a house about a mile outside of campus with our two boys: Charlie (4) and Finn (2). There is one more thing I need to put on this page. Because I am 6’9”, I get a lot of questions from students about my basketball career. Also, I was told that I could put “whatever I want” on this personal faculty web page. Therefore, the bottom of this page will answer some commonly asked questions and give me a place that I can go to often to relive my glory days.
Finally, fifteen years ago, my St. Mary’s team traveled to the USAir Arena (where the DC NBA team used to play) to play a game against Mary Washington College on Home Team Sports. The two links below are some highlights from the game in two different video player formats. Enjoy! | ![]() | |||||
