2012-2013 Academic Year All applicants for admission will be considered for a merit-based academic scholarship award, provided their application for admission is complete by either the Early Action filing deadline of November 1, 2011 or the Regular Decision filing deadline of January 15, 2012. A separate scholarship application is not required.
a) 2012-13 CSS PROFILE Application: Register online for the PROFILE Application. The College Board’s Web site is www.collegeboard.com. After completing the registration process, file the PROFILE Application online. Loyola University's CSS Code Number is 5370. b) 2012-13 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): Obtain a Federal Personal Identification Number (PIN) using the Federal PIN Web site, www.pin.ed.gov. Parents should also obtain a Federal PIN. Once created, the Federal PIN allows access to the applicant’s data in several Federal Student Financial Aid systems and also serves as that person’s electronic signature. After receiving your Federal PIN, file the FAFSA online. The FAFSA Web site address is www.fafsa.ed.gov. Loyola University's FAFSA Code Number is 002078.
We recommend that you complete your 2011 taxes before completing the FAFSA. If you have not yet completed your return, you can use estimated tax information to submit your FAFSA now, and then correct that information after you file your tax return.
The easiest way to complete or correct your FAFSA with accurate tax information is by opting to use the online IRS Data Retrieval Tool. This process allows applicants and parents to retrieve tax data from the IRS tax return and transfer it directly into your FAFSA. If you are unable to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool on your initial FAFSA application, we strongly encourage its use to update this information after taxes are submitted. If families are not eligible or ultimately choose not to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to update the tax information, the U.S. Department of Education may require us to collect additional documentation, including a certified tax transcript that you would need to obtain from the IRS.

c) Social Security Number Requirement: Provide your Social Security number to the office of undergraduate admission. On the Common Application, enter your SSN in the "Personal Data" section. On the Supplement for the Common Application, enter your SSN in the "Biographical Information" section. Or, on the Loyola Advantage Application, enter your SSN in the "Your Information" section. Your SSN is a primary identifier and is required to assure the accurate electronic transmission of the data you supply on the CSS PROFILE Application and Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to your Loyola student record. Your SSN along with all other personally identifiable information included in your student record will not be disclosed by the University without your consent or as allowed by federal and state law.
d) CSS PROFILE and FAFSA Filing Deadline: Complete the PROFILE Application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) no later than February 15, 2012. e) Parents' and Student's 2011 Federal Tax Returns: Your 2011 Federal Tax Return and your parents’ 2011 Federal Tax Return information will be used to verify the financial information reported on the PROFILE and the FAFSA. Loyola participates in the College Board’s Institutional Documentation Service (IDOC) to collect parent and student tax return forms. After you file the PROFILE Application, the College Board will send you complete instructions for submitting your Federal Tax Return forms.
