2012-13 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

Complete the FAFSA online using your Federal Personal Identification Number (PIN). The FAFSA Web site is www.fafsa.ed.gov. Loyola University's FAFSA Code Number is 002078. If you have lost your PIN, or need to request a new PIN, you may do so by accessing the Federal PIN Web site at www.pin.ed.gov.

Students who did not apply for financial aid for the 2011-12 academic year: Obtain a Federal Personal Identification Number (PIN) using the Federal PIN Web site, www.pin.ed.gov. Parents should also obtain a Federal PIN. Once created, the Federal PIN allows access to the applicant's data in several Federal Student Aid systems and also serves as that person's electronic signature. After receiving your Federal PIN, file the 2012-13 FAFSA online. The FAFSA Web site is www.fafsa.ed.gov. Loyola University's FAFSA Code Number is 002078.

We recommend that you complete your 2011 taxes before completing the FAFSA. If you have not yet completed your return, you can use estimated tax information to submit your FAFSA now, and then correct that information after you file your tax return.

The easiest way to complete or correct your FAFSA with accurate tax information is by opting to use the online IRS Data Retrieval Tool. This process allows applicants and parents to retrieve tax data from the IRS tax return and transfer it directly into your FAFSA. If you are unable to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool on your initial FAFSA application, we strongly encourage its use to update this information after taxes are submitted.  If families are not eligible or ultimately choose not to use the IRS Data Retrieval Tool to update the tax information, the U.S. Department of Education may require us to collect additional documentation, including a certified tax transcript that you would need to obtain from the IRS.
