| Interested in Becoming a Student Instructor?? Students in the second or third year of study are invited to apply to become FE 100 instructors. Although previous participation in FE is a plus, this experience is not required. Qualifications include: - a desire to help first-year students adjust to college life;
- a heart for serving as a mentor for a group of first-year students;
- a desire to communicate the meaning of the mission of Loyola as a Jesuit Catholic college
- demonstrated leadership ability;
- a commitment to living an exemplary academic and social life as a student;
- the time and energy to serve the students and instructors well in the course; and
- attendance at a Spring training session (study day) and other meetings as arranged in the Fall.
How to apply: Send an e-mail or note with your name, address, phone, and class year to Xavier Cole, Director of the First-Year Experience, Dean of Students Office ( xcole@loyola.edu) or Candice Festa, Graduate Assistant, (ccfesta@loyola.edu). In your note, please indicate in a short paragraph why you would like to become involved as an FYE instructor and list the activities in which you have been involved as a student. Also, first-time applicants are asked to forward a letter of recommendation from a faculty member or administrator who is familiar with their leadership abilities as well as the FE 100 program.
