The Graduate Program in Spiritual and Pastoral Care provides students with the skills necessary to respond to the expanding roles in pastoral care throughout the community at large. Like the programs in Pastoral Counseling, the Master of Arts in Spiritual and Pastoral Care integrates counseling psychology with spirituality, however its particular emphasis centers on pastoral care in parishes and in other communities, such as hospitals and retreat centers. As such, students gain competence in areas including assessment and referral, bereavement counseling, biblical spirituality, crisis intervention and spiritual guidance.
