Loyola College is authorized under Federal Law to enroll non-immigrant, alien students who are the citizens of countries other than the United States. International applicants to Loyola's Graduate Programs who need an F-1 student visa are required to submit documentation in addition to the academic credentials necessary for Admissions Committee review. Please note that International students are advised to apply for admission six months prior to their anticipated start term.

Requirements for Admission

In addition to the specific program application forms for all graduate programs, international students are required to submit the following additional documentation:

• TOEFL Score Report- required only if English is not the applicant's native language or if the applicant has not completed a degree taught in English. The official score must be sent directly from the testing agency- Loyola's institution code is 5370.
• WES Evaluation- required of all applicants who hold degrees or who have earned credits from non- US institutions must have a course-by-course evaluation of their academic records done by a recognized evaluation service agency before they can be considered for admission to a degree program. Loyola recommends World Educations Services, Inc. (www.wes.org)
• International Student Supplemental Application must be submitted with the application materials.  Applicants can obtain this form by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page.       

Obtaining the I-20

  Loyola College is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant and alien students who are citizens of   countries other than the United States.  International applicants to Loyola's graduate programs who need an F-1 stduent visa are required to submit documentation in addition to the academic credentials necessary for admission committee review.  These forms should be submitted 90-180 days before the anticipated start date.

The following documents are required and all must be received before an I-20 can be issued:

• Personal statement or statment from benefactor affirming that all expenses will be met during the student's period of enrollment at Loyola.  Expenses include tuition, fees, books, housing, medical and all other living expenses (in U.S. dollars).   
• Declaration of Finances Form must be accompanied by a current bank statement issued within 90-180 days of the expected start date (in U.S. dollars).  Current bank statement must verify that funds are available to support the student's stay at Loyola.  To obtain the form, click on the link at the bottom of this page.
• Personal statement indicating plans for summer, such as whether the student will be staying in the U.S. to enroll in courses or traveling outside of the United States.
• Personal statement, or statement from benefactor showing that all expenses will be met during the summer (if applicable).
• Proof of medical insurance, emergency evacuation and repatriation insurance. 
• Tuition payment for the first nine credits (U.S. currency bank check payable to Loyola College in Maryland).
• $25.00 registration fee.

Please note: Students must pay a $100 SEVIS fee directly to the Department of Homeland Security.  Students must present a receipt of payment at the time of the interview with the consulate or embassy.
