| Hours & Wages | 12 month (Preferred dates: May 15-May 14). Approximately 20 hours per week. The GA will be required to work through the exam period, but will not be required to work during all college holidays, winter, and spring break. $ 15,000/ generally, the student will receive tuition remission for two courses (summer, fall, and spring semester) and the remainder as a stipend. |
| Specific Responsibilities | 1. Assist with the organization and administration of the Honor Council and hearings for violations of academic integrity as defined in the Community Standards document. Responsibilities include: - Review cases of violations of the Honor Code and select and schedule hearing panels according to the Community Standards.
- Work with student officers of the Honor Council and the AVP for Student Development to plan orientation and training for new members and on-going educational efforts for current members of the Honor Council.
- Work with the AVP for Student Development to benchmark standards of academic integrity with appropriate institutions and develop initiatives for modifications to the Code.
- Provide thorough investigation for full hearings before the honor council, including conducting appropriate interviews with reporting faculty, accused students, and witnesses.
2. Assist with organization and implementation of the First-Year Experience Seminar (FE 100). Specific responsibilities include: - Coordinate trainings and workshops for FE 100 instructors, including preparing course materials, rosters, and logistics for guest speakers.
- Work with the Director of First-Year Research to conduct assessment of the FE 100 Program.
- Advertise, interview, and select all student instructors for the FE 100 Program.
3. Maintain contact with students who have either been on leave for psychological reasons or have agreed to conditions with the Dean of Students in order to continue their education. This responsibility is for the summer period only. 4. Assist the AVP’s, Assistant to the Dean, and Vice President with programs and presentations for summer orientation. |
