Graduate Assistant for Campus Ministry Web Presence and Videopgraphy

Hours & Wages

Period of Employment:  

  • 10-month position: 15 hours per week
  • August 15 - June 15 (approximately) 

Remuneration: 

  • Tuition Remission ($4,500) and Stipend ($4,500)
  • Fall (200 Hours) and Spring (220 hours)
Qualifications
  • Graduate degree candidate
  • Availability for 15 hours per week.
  • Flexibility with regard to specific duties.
  • Exceptional organizational skills a must as well as an eye for details.
  • Must possess an intimate knowledge of video editing, Web standards, willingness to learn new skills and technology. 
  • Must learn Site Executive (Loyola’s Content Management System).
  • Good communication skills (ability to ask for assistance or ask questions when one is unsure) is a must.
  • Understanding of (or commitment to learn), Jesuit educational and spiritual values. 
  • Competent in following computer applications: Adobe Premiere, Apple Final Cut, Adobe Creative Suite (including photoshop), Adobe Flash, and Microsoft Office. 
  • Highly motivated and a demonstrated ability for (and belief in) collaboration and teamwork.
  • Ability to see a project through to completion
  • Self-directed and motivated
  • Availability for two-year commitment (upon re-evaluation at the end of the first year) would be preferred, although not required.
Responsibilities

Basic Responsibilites

A.     Updates and maintains campus ministry website using Loyola’s content management system (limited or no html knowledge needed).  Works in close collaboration with the Campus Ministry Program Assistant. 

B.     Works in close collaboration with both professional and student staff to make sure that all relevant publicity needs are met. 

C.     Maintains flexible office hours and is a frequent presence at Campus Ministry events.  During a given 15 hour week there may be events outside of normal business hours (evening and weekend events) that need to be covered.

D.     Working with the Program Assistant for Campus Ministry, the Graduate Assistant coordinates ongoing video projects with the assistance of the professional and student staff.  This would include events such as “Connections,” “Mass of the Holy Spirit,” “Lessons & Carols,” “Designated Retreats,” “Initiation Sunday,” etc…”

E.      Keep updated and comprehensive documentation related to all events filmed and edited for record keeping purposes.

F.      Provides feedback when requested and participates in brainstorming sessions that seek to increase efficiency of Campus Ministries’ web presence as well as all video productions.

G.     Engages in regular (bi-weekly) supervision with the Program Assistant for Campus Ministry.  Content may include but is not limited t feedback on job skills and performance, improvements regarding professional skills and self-care, increasing efficiency, etc.

H.     Presence at specific Campus Ministry events and programs (as decided by the entire professional ministry staff) will be required.  These events include, but are not limited t Intern Retreat in August, Mass of the Holy Spirit, Lessons & Carols, Initiation Sunday, and Baccalaureate Mass. 

Additional Duties

  • Videotapes and edits specific campus ministry events and programs for inclusion in various media forms including, but not limited to, the Campus Ministry Website, other forums such as DVD, CD, and other web-ready formats (flash, video, Quicktime, Windows Media, etc…).
  • Creates and maintains relevant PowerPoint presentations to be used at various student and parent orientations. 
  • Performs other assigned tasks as delegated.
