The Graduate Assistant for New Student Programs assists the Director of Leadership and New Student Programs (LNSP) in planning, implementing and evaluating a wide variety of programs designed specifically to meet the transitional needs of new students. The orientation programs assist new students in making a successful transition to the academic, social and spiritual life of Loyola College. More specifically, the LNSP staff and the orientation staff (referred to as Evergreens) develop and implement programs and activities beginning with summer orientation for first-year students, continuing through fall orientation and the fall semester. The Evergreen staff is one of the largest student leadership groups on campus. Primary Responsibilities A. Coordinate the Evergreen Program Coordinator (EPC) and Evergreen selection processes. B. Advise the EPCs individually and as a group to develop leadership skills and plan for Evergreen training and orientations. C. Assist in designing and facilitating Evergreen training and development. D. Serve as a liaison for LNSP and the Evergreen staff to other College departments. E. Assist in the coordination and implementation of the four summer orientation sessions, fall orientation, and January transfer orientation. F. Compile and analyze the summer and fall orientation evaluations. |
