Hours & Wages

Period of employment:

  • One (1) or two (2) academic years (may include summer). 
  • Ability to work two or three academic years preferred.
  • Recipient will work approximately 7 or 8 hours per week each semester, or approximately 100 hours per semester. 
  • May include some evening and weekend hours. 

Remuneration: 

  • $1452 per semester, following a 50 percent stipend and 50 percent scholarship model ($726 will automatically go towards tuition, $726 will be provided as a stipend). 
  • This amount is based on 100 hours/semester.  It may be prorated depending on when position is filled and how many hours of work will actually be completed during the semester.
Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled as a graduate student at Loyola College.
  • Current, ongoing experience with social justice education/work, familiarity with and commitment to the Ignatian tradition.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and spoken communication; demonstrated excellence at organization skills; ability to work well both independently and in close collaboration with a team.
  • Ability and willingness to work with faculty and administrators.
  • Experience with website development/maintenance preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with updating Justice Web:  www.loyola.edu/justice
  • Research, compile, and enter justice information for the 28 Jesuit colleges and universities into database and web site.
  • Support national justice conference planning and other projects at the direction of the national justice committee chair. 
  • Correspond with faculty and administrators about their conference entries.
  • Maintain database of conference submissions, decisions, communications.
  • As directed by the committee chair, support the national justice committee’s charge to convene, connect, communicate, and coordinate justice initiatives at the 28 schools.
  • Participate in and support chair’s work with the committee.
