SUMMARY This program supports faculty publications by reimbursing faculty authors for limited distribution of faculty books on and off campus by paying for: a. the cost of 5 copies of a book (usually at author's discount or at wholesale) for the faculty author to distribute as he or she judges best; b. the cost of providing copies of books or works in other media (usually at author's discount or at wholesale) to any member of the Loyola faculty who requests one; c. the purchase of 2 copies of Loyola authors' books in order to establish a library of humanities publications. This includes buying copies of previously published books still in print, in order to make the collection as complete as possible. This "library of Loyola humanities publications" would be housed in the Director's office until a suitably prominent site can be arranged. ELIGIBILITY 1. Any faculty member in the humanities, regardless of status. STANDARDS FOR PROPOSALS 2. Proposals need only identify the faculty member's publication, the publisher, and the author's discounted or wholesale price (see 3 below). PROCEDURES 3. Faculty authors should submit receipts for 7 copies of their books to Patty Ingram, Programs Coordinator. Five of these copies will go to the faculty author; two copies will go to the "library of Loyola humanities publications." Faculty authors may also donate copies of their books in which case they will receive a receipt for tax purposes. 4. Any faculty member in the College may request a copy of any book in the Center's Humanities Library at cost. 5. As the Center's copies of these books are exhausted, they will be replaced by reimbursing the author for additional copies. DEADLINE 6. SUBMISSION OF REQUESTS CAN BE MADE AT ANY TIME DURING THE YEAR.
