SUMMARY The Junior Faculty Sabbatical Program provides untenured faculty in the humanities with one semester sabbaticals to advance their scholarly and/or creative projects. It is intended to further individual scholarship and/or creative work in the Humanities and aid in the recruitment and retention of humanities faculty. The faculty member receives full salary and benefits during the sabbatical and may apply for as much as an additional $1,000 for travel or research expenses. The sabbatical may be devoted to a new project, one already in progress, or the completion of a project for publication. The project must be based in a discipline of the humanities but may also be interdisciplinary. The Junior Faculty Sabbatical is considered regular sabbatical time which counts towards tenure (Rank and Tenure, 2:5). The period of the sabbatical extends from January 1 to May 15 or from August 15 to December 31.
