Welcome to Loyola! We are excited to have you join our Loyola community. As transfer students, we know you have some college experience under your belts and have tailored sessions to meet your needs. Transfer Welcome Weekend is important for your success at Loyola. Below you will find the framework for your schedule. Students will receive a more detailed schedule upon arrival. 

Please remember, transfer welcome weekend is mandatory for all incoming transfer students. Times are subject to change. Please refer to the schedule you receive when you arrive for Welcome Weekend for specifics.

Friday, September 2

Time  Program 
9 a.m. - Noon

Resident Transfer Student Check-In
Hopkins Court Lounge

Those with a valid Loyola student ID, skip to step 2

  1. Visit Student Administrative Services (SAS) located in Maryland Hall 140 to receive your student ID between the hours of  8 a.m. - 12 p.m. You will be unable to check in without a valid student ID. 
  2. Once you have your ID, head to Hopkins Court Lounge to check-in and receive your room key.
Noon - 1 p.m.

Family Reception and Welcome
*Commuter Students Check-In
Join Loyola administrators to learn about the Loyola community and our expectations for you as Loyola students and family members. Refreshments will be provided. Please RSVP with the number of intended guests for the reception to studentengagement@loyola.edu.

Students will receive detailed schedules and information packets at this time.

1 - 1:15 p.m.

Family Farewell
Family members are welcome to take time to say goodbyes or arrange details for the evening - students will be in sessions the remainder of the day.

 1:15 - 5 p.m. Community Information Sessions
The sessions will cover campus safety, community expectations, and what it means to be a member of the larger Loyola community. This will include small group discussions with your Evergreen.
 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. Dinner and Women's Soccer Game
Join us at the Ridley for your first Loyola athletic event! Tickets are free and a dinner buffet is available for students. Shuttle buses from main campus will be available.
 9:30 - 11 p.m. Hypnotist!
Nationally-renowned hypnotist Dan LaRosa will put on a captivating show, which includes hynotizing students from the audience. Any volunteers?
 11 p.m. - 1 a.m. Midnight Snack

Saturday, September 3

Time Program
9 a.m. - Noon

Core Values Session
This session will introduce you to a number of Loyola's Core Values and will allow you to see how they play out in the daily life of Loyola students. This time will include small group conversations with your Evergreen.

Noon - 2 p.m.

Break Time!
A chance to relax, grab a snack, or even stop in to buy your books!

2 - 5 p.m.

Academic Information Sessions
A variety of information sessions on the academic life will be offered including Honor Code and academic support/resources.

5 p.m. - 7 p.m. Dinner
On your own at locations across campus.
9:30 - 11:30 p.m. Casino Night
Casino games including Texas Hold 'Em and Black Jack will be there. The more you win, the better your chance of winning prizes!
11:30 p.m. - 1:30 a.m. Midnight Snack

Sunday, September 4

Time Program
9:30 a.m. -1 p.m.

Information Sessions
Sessions will cover community expectations, bystander intervention, and general wellness.

1 - 2 p.m.

Welcome Weekend Closing
We'll gather all new transfer students for a closing session and reflection as the weekend wraps up.

2 - 4 p.m.

Academic Interest Sessions
Students will have the option to attend various information sessions, including: study abroad, health careers, law careers, and integrated/service learning.

5 - 7 p.m. Dinner
On your own at locations across campus.
6 - 7 p.m. New Student Liturgy
9:30 - 11 p.m. DJ Paul Random!
11 p.m. - 1 a.m. Midnight Snack

Monday, September 5

This is meant to be a free day for all new transfer students. Good luck with your first day of classes!
