There are three components to the Ignatius Scholars program:

  • Student Arrival: Sunday, Aug. 10
  • Student/Parent Reception: Sunday, Aug. 10
  • Orientation: Sunday, Aug. 10
  • Classes Begin: Monday, Aug. 11
  • Program Concludes: Friday, Aug. 22

Snap Shot:

8:30 a.m. Breakfast
9 a.m. Session - Critical Reading
10:30 a.m. Session - Writing/Math
Noon Lunch with Faculty/Staff mentor 
1:30 p.m. Session - Math/Writing
3 p.m. Workshop (time management, study skills, life at Loyola, etc.)
4 p.m. Study Time
6 p.m. Dinner
7 p.m. Orioles Game at Camden Yards

Special enrichment activities and cultural excursions have been planned for various evenings and weekends including a community service project, tour of Baltimore museums, Toby's Dinner Theatre, a movie night, and an ice cream social.

Pre-Fall Orientation

Students will participate in one of four of Loyola's pre-fall orientation programs. The programs are:

  • Multicultural Awareness Program (MAP)-sponsored by ALANA Services
  • Outdoor Adventure Experience (OAE) – sponsored by Recreational Sports
  • Connections – sponsored by Campus Ministry
  • Pathways to Leadership – sponsored by Loyola Peer Education

2014 Fall Semester

The fall semester component consists of:

  • Bi-weekly group meetings with an Academic Advising administrator who will provide academic support and strategies
  • Participating in Messina, premier living learning program, as part of their first-year schedule  
  • Weekly individual meetings with an Academic Advising administrator
  • Ten study hours in The Study per week
