Note: This is a basic outline of the 2014 Fall Welcome Weekend schedule. Times are subject to change. Please refer to the schedule you receive at move-in for specifics. 

Thursday, August 28 

Time Program
8:00 a.m. - noon Resident Students Move-In to Residence Halls
Students will be given specific information on when and where to check-in.
11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Lunch
On your own at locations across campus.
Noon - 1:30 p.m. Commuter Students Check-In
Commuter students will receive their packets in the lobby area of McManus Theater. 
2:00 p.m. - 3:45 p.m. Evergreen Small Group Meetings
Students will meet up in smaller groups to cover relevant orientation information as well as information for the year ahead.
4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. New Student Convocation
The Class of 2018 will be introduced and inducted into the Loyola University Maryland community. Parents and family are welcome to stay, but we ask they depart campus at the conclusion of the ceremony. 
5:00 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. Dinner
On your own at locations across campus.
5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Commuter Student Meet Up
A chance for commuter students to meet one another while also learning about the various expectations of a Loyola student. 
7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Residential Meetings
A chance to learn more about the expectations in the year ahead, both on and off campus.
9:30 p.m. - 11:30 p. m
FAC Attack!
Head up to the Fitness and Aquatic Center for some friendly games and competition. There will be free gear and prizes available for those who participate!

Friday, August 29

8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m Evergreen Small Group Meetings
9:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m.
Common Text Presentations and Discussions
The text for this year is The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison (each student received a copy during Summer Orientation). Be prepared to discuss the book with your advisor and a small group of students.
12:30 p.m. - 1:45 p.m. Lunch
On your own at locations across campus.
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Community Information Sessions 
The sessions will cover campus safety, community expectations, and what it means to be a member of the larger Loyola community. 
4:15 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Evergreen Small Group Meetings 
5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Dinner
On your own at locations across campus.
8:00 p.m. -9:30 p.m. Hypnotist 
A nationally renowned hypnotist will put on a captivating show including hypnotizing students from the audience. 
9:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.  Outdoor Movie on the Quad
Grab a blanket and some popcorn and hang out for one of the summer's hottest blockbuster films! 
11:30 p.m. - 1:30 a.m. Midnight Snack

Saturday, August 30 

Time Program
9:30 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.  Evergreen Small Group Time 
10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.  Brunch with the Jesuits
Enjoy a free brunch and learn what a Jesuit education is all about.
11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.  Break Time!
A chance to relax, grab a snack, or even stop in and buy your books! 

1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Academic Information Sessions 
A variety of information sessions on the academic life at Loyola will be offered including Honor Code, academic support/resources, and study abroad. You will have a choice of which sessions to attend. 
5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Dinner

6:00 p.m.  - 7:00 p.m. New Student Liturgy
8:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Casino Night
Casino games including Texas Hold 'Em and Black Jack will be there. The more you win, the better your chances of winning prizes! 
11:30 p.m. - 1:30 a.m. Midnight Snack

Sunday, August 31

The day will happen in a rotation format. Groups will be assigned to times to move through various sessions throughout the day. Topics for the day include:

Dining Program Information                                                                                                                                         We know the dining plan can be confusing so we'll have a staff member walk through the program, dining options, and answer and other questions. 
 Re-Cap Think About It                                                                      Beginning August 1, you will receive instructions through your Loyola email account on how to access Think About It. This online course will take place in three parts and you are expected to complete Part 1 by August 27. 
Bystander Intervention Sessions You will have a chance to learn more about the importance of Loyola's Core Value "Diversity" and how you can uphold community expectations.

7:30 p.m. - 11:30 p.m. Initium Week Kick-Off Conert! 
Join us for a night of dancing with a live DJ concert, contests, and giveaways! This is a campus-wide event sponsored by the Student Government Association and the Office of Student Engagement. (Ticket information will be sent to your Loyola email). 

Monday, September 1 (Labor Day)

10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.  Class Schedule Tours
Your Evergreen will walk through your fall class schedule and show you the various buildings and rooms. 
1:00 p.m. - 5 p.m.  Shuttle Service to Towson
This free shuttle will take you from campus to Towson Market place (Target, Walmart, Bed Bath, & Beyond, and Weis grocery store). This is a great time to pick up any last minute supplies! 
5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Dinner
On your own at locations across campus.
6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Honors Program Event: Homer and Pizza
Honors students will be contacted with more information about this program.
