What is Loyola Christian
Fellowship?
We are a student-led organization whose purpose is to grow in the knowledge of God and to develop a committed spiritual life. We believe that God makes a difference in our daily lives in practical, relevant ways. As a body united by Christ, we encourage one another in our personal relationship with God, challenging and serving each other and the Loyola community with the incredible love of Jesus Christ.
What is InterVarsity?
The Loyola Christian Fellowship is part of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Although it may sound like a sport, Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship (IVCF) is an international Christian organization whose purpose is to develop disciples, build collegiate fellowships, and engage the campus in all its ethnic and diverse backgrounds to build a Christian community. As an InterVarsity chapter, we participate in local conferences, retreats, and leadership training events.
Is Loyola Christian
Fellowship affiliated with any particular church?
Loyola Christian Fellowship (LCF) is not associated with any particular church, denomination, or order. We are a group that is characterized by the diversity of our members. Our ministry is enhanced by the different perspective of each member. LCF welcomes everyone, regardless of denomination.
What does all this mean?
Loyola Christian Fellowship is here for the students of Loyola College. We want to encourage and support others to know God's love, and to live lives as Christ's followers that glorify Him. This is not always easy, especially on a college campus. LCF offers Bible Studies, Prime Time large group fellowship meetings, community service, prayer meetings, and other fun activities.
Oasis
"Oasis" is our large group fellowship meeting. Oasis
evenings are held every Tuesday in Cohn 33. All are welcome! For more information
see the calendar page.
Small Groups
Have you ever taken the time to actually read or study the
Word of God? God has a lot to say to us and this is a good way
to find out more about it. In a small
group of 6-10 others, you can explore the Bible, encourage
one another, and have fun. It's a great way to develop friendships
that go beyond the surface and to grow in your faith in Jesus
Christ.
Retreats,
Conferences, and Other Events
LCF participates in fall and spring retreats and conferences along with other chapters of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. We also make road trips to concerts in the region, and send our leaders and interested members IV's Chapter Camp at Lake Champion in New York each May. For more information about camp and other activities, check out InterVarsity's website for the Midatlantic Region.
