Audacity is an audio editor and recorder. It can be used for creating and editing podcasts as well as editing other audio files. It can also be used to convert cassette tapes or records to digital formats such as mp3. It is available on all the Digital Lab computers.

Garageband is audio creation software for Macs. It can be used for creating music and podcasts. Garageband HD is located on Macs 3, 4, and 5. A more recent version, Garageband '09 can be found on Macs 1 and 2 in the Digital Lab.
